Honest answers to what people often ask before we start.
I'm Kevin Tieman. Tieman IT is my one-person business from Borne, the Netherlands. No team, no office, no account managers. That's not a limitation but a deliberate choice: you email the person who builds your website. No middle layers, no phone calls about extra costs, no 'let me check with the team'.
Within one business day, always. For urgent issues (site down, orders not coming through) as soon as possible. This is a deliberately tight promise so I can actually keep it.
For short absence I pick things up within 1-2 days. For longer absence I have daily backups and fully documented infrastructure - another developer can take over. I carry a disability insurance (AOV) for long-term absence. Your code is always yours: in an emergency you get everything export-ready.
My base is Twente, but I work for clients across the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Most conversations happen via video-call or email. For local clients I'm happy to visit for a personal introduction.
Service entrepreneurs mostly: hairdressers, beauty salons, car detailers, plumbers, cleaners, personal trainers, tattoo studios, dog groomers, wellness, painters. Larger companies with unique needs (3D, animations, custom features) are welcome too.
Monthly SEO campaigns, Google Ads management, logo design from scratch, ongoing social media management, WordPress builds, native mobile apps. If you need that I'll gladly refer you to someone who does it well.
Yes. Every website starts with a one-time setup fee for design, development and launch - Static from €1,450, Template from €3,500, Custom from €6,500. On top of that you pay monthly for managed hosting and support. Both amounts are fixed up front.
Managed hosting (VPS, SSL), daily backups, uptime monitoring, security updates, 30 minutes of content changes per month (Template Plus), and my 1-business-day response promise. For Template Pro that's 60 minutes. For Custom tuned to the project.
Outside the included changes: €95 per hour, billed in 15-minute blocks. Or a prepaid hour-card: 10 hours for €875, valid for 12 months. For larger jobs I'll quote a fixed price up front.
Yes. Monthly cancellable after a minimum contract period of 12 months. On cancellation you get your code and a database backup - no lock-in. Migration to another host is billed hourly (€95/hr).
Pay a year up front: 10% off the monthly rate. Cashflow benefit for me, price benefit for you.
WordPress relies on plugins that break each other, is a well-known hacker target, and often produces slow sites. My Next.js stack has no plugins, loads 2-3x faster, scores higher on SEO (Google rewards speed), and has one responsible party (me) instead of 15 plugin authors.
Under 1 second on average. All sites score Lighthouse 95+ (scale up to 100 for performance, accessibility, best practices and SEO). That's measurable, not marketing-speak.
Every client runs in an isolated Docker container with its own database. SSL automatic via Traefik. UFW firewall, fail2ban against brute-force, daily backups with weekly verification, 24/7 monitoring with Prometheus + Grafana. All secrets encrypted.
With the Template tier you get a full CMS admin panel: services, reviews, FAQ, team, blog, images - manage yourself without technical knowledge. With the Static tier I do the changes because there's no CMS there.
Your code is yours. On request you get a full export: Git repository, database dump, uploads. No lock-in. The tooling I use (tit-ctl) is my deployment tooling, not your hostage.
Static site: 1-3 weeks. Template site: 3-4 weeks. Custom: 4-14 weeks depending on scope. These are realistic timelines, not optimistic marketing numbers.
1) Intro + scope talk (one meeting). 2) Fixed quote within 3 business days. 3) After approval I start design (Static/Template) or design phase (Custom). 4) I show intermediate steps and you give feedback. 5) Launch + training (Template). No surprises along the way.
During design: 2 feedback rounds included. Additional rounds from the third on: billed hourly. This keeps timelines realistic and prevents endless tweaking. Not aloof, just clear.
Text (or I'll help structure it), images (photos of your work/space), access to any existing assets (logo, brand style). For Template: which modules you want active. No technical knowledge required - I handle all the tech.
