This is me

Kevin Tieman

Here's how I got here.

01 · Childhood

The plugs

As soon as I could walk, I was pulling plugs out.

What happens if I take this out? Usually nothing good. But I learned how it worked. The living room was my first laboratory: every cable had a story, every blinking light a reason.

02 · Teenager

Building my own PC

First time everything clicked was when I put it together myself.

My first self-built PC. Then my friends'. That's when I fell in love with the physical side of IT: the perfect combination of parts, that first boot, the moment a screen lights up because of what you wired together.

03 · High school

Minecraft obsession

How do I run a server? Build plugins? Play together?

I went deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole. Java, Bukkit, permissions, writing plugins for my own server. Friends calling for perms, I learned to debug under real-user pressure. Running a full community at age 13.

04 · Young adult

Networking & home-lab

I didn't stop at Minecraft.

Home-server. Own DNS. Redundant network. How does this actually work? I just built it: rack in the garage, VLANs, reverse proxies, manual TLS renewals. Everything I now deploy for clients I tested on myself first.

05 · Now

Full-stack + design

Now I build the whole picture.

From database to design, from network to copy. Everything I learned, fits together. Next.js, React Three Fiber, Prisma, Docker on my own infrastructure, plus an eye for typography, colour, feel. Technical and visual, one thing.

The future

What I'm building now is just the beginning.

I keep experimenting, learning, and above all: building what I'd want to use myself. 3D on websites, AI-assisted tooling, platform architecture for service businesses. If you recognise something in this, let's build.

This is Tieman IT. This is me.
