What does managed hosting include?

Managed hosting means I manage the complete technical infrastructure behind your website. You do not need to know anything about servers, databases, SSL, backups or monitoring. You focus on your business, I focus on the technology underneath. In concrete terms: your site runs on a VPS in an EU datacenter, with Docker for container isolation, Traefik as reverse proxy with automatic SSL, PostgreSQL as the database, and Prometheus + Grafana for monitoring. The same stack as T&H Car Care and internal TIT projects, proven in production. Backups run daily with weekly verification, dependency updates run automatically with monitoring for breakage, security patches within 48 hours of release for critical CVEs. Uptime target of 99.9%, with monitoring that alerts me before you notice anything.

Why not Vercel or Cloudflare?

Vercel and Cloudflare are strong platforms but they create lock-in. Your site becomes dependent on their deploy pipeline, their CDN, their pricing model, their feature flags. Changes to their policies (such as the bandwidth pricing Vercel increased in 2024) affect you directly, and migrating is a major project. My managed hosting runs on standard Linux and Docker. Want to self-host in a few years, move to another agency, or bring in your own developer? You get the Docker image and migration is a day's work rather than a month. No vendor lock-in, no surprises later on. I run your site on infrastructure I have full control over. Logs, metrics, debugging, custom configuration: everything within reach. With Vercel or Cloudflare you are behind a limited dashboard.

When is managed hosting the right choice?

For service businesses that take their website seriously as a business asset but do not have an IT department. You do not want to handle server maintenance, schedule security updates, verify backups, or manage SSL renewals. At the same time you do not want to be tied to expensive managed platforms with unpredictable invoices. It fits alongside my website templates and custom websites: a bundled stack where build, hosting and maintenance come from one place. Already have an existing site with another host? I can migrate that too, just request a short intake first so we can check whether it is a technical fit. Not for sites with massive peak traffic (10,000+ concurrent users) or specific compliance requirements that demand dedicated hosting. In those cases you are better off with a specialised hosting provider.
